Understanding Maximum Drawdown (Static)
Updated 29 October 2026
Maximum Drawdown is the account's overall loss floor. It is static and equity-based.
How it works
The floor is calculated from the phase's original starting balance and never trails upward when the account makes profit.
Current standard limits
- Instant Funding (Cobra Venom and Cobra Prime): 6%
- Cobra Strike: 5%
- 1-Step: 6%
- 2-Step: 12%
Examples on a $10,000 account
- Instant or 1-Step: 6% is $600, so the overall breach floor is $9,400.
- 2-Step: 12% is $1,200, so the overall breach floor is $8,800.
Floating losses count. If account equity falls below the applicable floor, the account breaches even if the position has not been closed.
Cobra Prime bought from 30 October 2026: trailing 6%
On these accounts the 6% max loss moves up as your account grows, and stops at your starting balance. The floor sits 6% of the starting balance below your highest equity, open trades included. It never moves down. Profit removed by the 60% per-trade cap or the $3,000 daily cap does not count.
Example on $10,000: the floor starts at $9,400. When your equity reaches $10,300 it is $9,700. From $10,600 on it stays at $10,000.
Cobra Prime bought before 30 October 2026 keeps the static 6% above.
